Traces of a Roman settlement were discovered during the church renovation in 1965.<\/p><p>In 1761, Buch was incorporated into the bailiwick of Andelfingen. In 1855, Gr\u00e4slikon was transferred from Buch to the municipality of Berg am Irchel. The first viewing tower on the Irchel was built in 1930; the current structure was inaugurated in 1983.<\/p><p>The legendary blood beech on the Stammberg has become the municipality\u2019s historic landmark. This red-leaved beech\nhas been known in local tradition since 1680.\n          <\/p>\n\n          <p>\n            There is also a legend associated with the coat of arms: according to tradition, the red foliage is linked to a\nfratricide.
